Input Sketch

Mode to determine diverter width*

This setting determines whether the width of the Flowsort diverters will be defined by the already fixed width of the conveyor or by the dimensions of transported items.

Product type to be sorted*

The type of items to be sorted. Be aware that only items with a solid and flat bottom can be sorted. Therefore the sortation of polybags is not possible.

Maximum product width in mm*

The maximum width of the items to be sorted. Products with a max. width between 80 and 900mm can be handled.

Minimum product width in mm*

The minimum width of the items to be sorted. Products with a min. width between 80 and 900mm can be handled.

Maximum product length in mm*

The maximum length of the items to be sorted. Products with a max. length between 80 and 1200mm can be handled.

Minimum product length in mm*

The minimum length of the items to be sorted. Products with a min. length between 80 and 1200mm can be handled.

Maximum product weight in g*

The maximum weight of the items to be sorted. The max. weight can vary between 50g and 35.000g.

Minimum product weight in g*

The minimum weight of the items to be sorted. The min. weight can vary between 50g and 35.000g.

Requested throughput (PPH)*

The number of items required to be handled by the system per hour. The throughput can vary between 1 and 8000 items per hour.

Outfeed Angle (Chute angle) (see sketch "OA")*

The angle at which the discharge point is located in relation to the main conveyor (see sketch "OA"). The angle can vary between 30 and 90 degrees.

Number of sortation points*

The number of points where exits from the main conveyor should be placed. If exits are required on both sides, the input here must still be counted as one sortation point.

Ambient temperature in °C*

Please pay attention that the sorting modules can only be used at an ambient temperature of 0-45°C.

Ambient humidity in %*

Please pay attention that the sorting modules can only be used at an ambient humidity of 0-90%. It needs to be assured that there will be no condensation on the Flowsort diverters.

Side of outfeeds*

Specify whether the items should be discharged on both sides ("both-sides") of the respective sorting points or only on one side ("one-side"). If it differs depending on the sorting point select "mix of one-side and both-sides".

Conveyor width (see sketch "LW") in mm*

The inner width of the conveyor in which the Flowsort diverter is to be used (see sketch "LW"). The following widths can be covered: 400-1100mm. This input is only necessary if the width of the conveyor is already determined and fix. Attention: If items with either length or width of less than 150mm should be handled, then only the following widths can be covered: 400mm, 600mm, 800mm, 1000mm.

Outfeed connection width (see sketch "CW") in mm*

The width of the discharge point on the conveyor (see sketch "CW") (min. 400mm).

Conveyor speed in m/s*

The speed of the conveyor, the diverter and the outfeed conveyor should be chosen equally. The speed can vary between 0,1 and 2,0m/s.

Diverter speed in m/s*

The speed of the conveyor, the diverter and the outfeed conveyor should be chosen equally. Adjust the speed according to the requested throughput. The speed can vary between 0,1 and 2,0m/s.

Outfeed speed*

The speed of the conveyor, the diverter and the outfeed conveyor should be chosen equally. Adjust the speed according to the requested throughput. The speed can vary between 0,1 and 2,0m/s.

Conveyor side guide offset*

Specify if there is a lateral offset of the conveyor side guide in relation to the inner edge of the conveyor profile (see sketch).

Required control card*

Select "ConveyLinx-Ai2" for: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi and all other PC-based PLC Systems. Select "MotionLinx-Ai" for: Beckhoff PLC Systems.

Pre-Sortation*

A pre-sortation before the items reach the diverter is always recommended. This is required to assure that narrow articles can also be discharged on particularly wide conveyors. If you select the "Do not include pre-sortation" option, make sure that the articles are already on the correct side before reaching the respective sorting point.

Height of the Flowsort diverter

Eco Flow Diverters have a height of 360mm (availabe as SLD, DLD and ZZ; max. speed 1,5m/s); Speed Flow Compact Diverters have a height of 227mm (available as SLD and DLD; max. speed 2,0m/s).

What is Presortation?

At the beginning of the video you will see a Flowsort Diverter, which is used as presortation. Presortation means that a diverter is used at the beginning of the conveyor line (i.e. before the sorting points) to bring the products already to the later sorting-out side of the conveyor. Presortation is especially necessary when very narrow products are to be sorted on wide conveyors. So that the products have already covered a large part of the conveyor width before the discharge points.
