With the addition of Aluform Bolts to our product range, nearly all users can benefit from the many advantages that aluminum provides as a material.
 
Aluform Bolts are often characterized by being lightweight – however, they also have other benefits when compared to steel bolts. Due to their higher coefficient of linear expansion, Aluform Bolts offer better adaptability in lighter applications. Alumform Bolts also experience a lower pretension loss from thermal expansion and a higher electrical conductivity when used in or with aluminum components.

Lightweight

Aluform Bolts are made from a high-strength aluminum alloy and feature a dry lubricating film. Aluform Bolts weigh around 60% less than comparable steel bolts. Aluform Bolts offer functional and competitive advantages in lightweight construction; where every gram counts.

 

Thermal expansion and operational safety

Aluminum adapts very well to components made of aluminum, magnesium and plastic. Aluform Bolts expand thermally with the components that they attach with, as the materials have almost identical coefficients of linear expansion. Compared to steel bolts, less plastic deformation occurs in the system, a possible consequence of which would be a loss of pretension. This prevents leaks/corrosion and prevents rattling and squeaking. Low creep contributes to a screw joint that is stable over the long term. Their good repeatability results from their corrosion resistance and the friction coefficient achieved by their dry coating. The combination of materials significantly increases operational reliability.
